The DZMM radio program “RED Alert” was given recognition at the 9th Hildegarde Awards at St. Scholastica College on Friday, March 6. Saint Scholastica College established the Hildegarde Awards for Women in Media and Communication in 2007 to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contribution of women in mass media and related fields. Project NOAH executive director Prof. Mahar Lagmay, ABS-CBN reporter Atom Araullo, and rescue Doctor Ted Esguerra are the show’s co-anchors, and they explain to listeners various ways to be prepared and alert during emergencies or disasters. Prof. Lagmay and program producer Sheila Tubalinal received the award on stage.

The awards were named after Saint Hildegarde of Bingen, a visionary woman from the 12th century who was prolific in the fields of philosophy, medicine, linguistics, music, and botany, among others. This year’s Hildegarde Lifetime Achievement Awards in Media and Communication were given to filmmaker and producer Ditsi Carolino and the late Travel Time host Susan Calo-Medina for their work in their respective films and television shows.
